(1) The upgraded L05 engine was ONLY available in the 92-93 Caprice 9C1. Higher performance camshaft, larger injectors, improved EPROM, larger tube Y-pipe, 3" inlets and outlets to/from the catalytic converter, and larger exhaust pipes all the way to the rear of the car.
I have the same car this should be the same engine you have. It should have a engine stamp under the hood in front of the radator that says 5.7Liter.

Should be the LT1 350 Small Bock. I was really intersted in these for a while and wanted one for myself. From my recelection it is the Corvette Motor, it should move pretty good. 
A friend of mine had one... It was an Impalla though (same as Carpice Police package) and he could blow away imports all day long (And even a Mustang or Two).
Edit: Does anyone happen to know off hand what Transmission is in the Police Caprice?

No dude the LT1's dont come in the caprice untel 1994 models. Its the LO5 Throttle Body Injection 5.7 Liter 350ci and its the best one to have if its in a expolice car which are called Caprice 9c1, Because it has Higher performance camshaft, larger injectors, improved EPROM, larger tube Y-pipe, 3" inlets and outlets to/from the catalytic converter, and larger exhaust pipes all the way to the rear of the car. Yeah these car rock, but its not a LT1 unless it has been changed.

If you look at the engine and it has two injecters under the air box and filter its a LO5, If it has a just the the throttle body at the front of the engine and 8 fuel injectors its a LT1.

That trans is called a MXO 4L60 4-speed Auto w/OD in the 92 and 93 9c1 caprice

Oh yea, sorry about that. I remember that I was looking for a 94-96 way back when becsaue they had the LT1. The 91-93 seemed like more of a grandma car to me for some reason. The 94 up Police package was basicly the Impalla, really nice car.

Yeah the LT1's relly rock! But even the LO5 police 5.7 350 in the 92.93 caprice thay still have some good power. I know the one I have does and its got over 180k and still runs strong.
