If it fits, it ships!

Core support is out, so I installed the middle 4 body mounts, new bushings, 1” puck, and new (longer) bolts. The rear 4 body mounts are the ones where a bolt comes down through the floor. Apparently, those 4 stock bolts need to be longer to install a 1” body lift. I mean, it sounds pretty obvious, but I think it’s strange that I haven’t read about it, nor is it mentioned in the instructions supplied with the kit.

Cut the floor and do new, longer bolts? Or is there something I’m missing?

Not ORD’s kit? I know there’s includes the bolts.

I think it probably is. It’s been sitting on my tool cart for like 2 years, I don’t really remember where I got it. I have enough new bolts for all the mounts. Just asking before I have to cut holes in the floor and weld back up.

It’s not a big deal, I just found it strange that I had never read that on all these forums. A 1” body lift isn’t out of the ordinary, and I’ve never seen anyone say, “Yeah it’s a great mod, but you gotta cut the floor to do new bolts in the rear.”

The bolt heads aren’t visible in the cargo area? Mine (‘91) were tack welded to the floor but they were exposed and easy to cut free.

Ah... Well my dumbass didn’t even look... :doah: Currently, the seats and carpet are in, no wiring or battery, and the back glass is up. So I have SOME small excuse for not crawling around back there... Still, shoulda looked before I said anything! :haha:

You need to hurry and get that thing going, several of us are going to Choccolocco the first of April.
