Is the Lucas oil, transmission fix stop slip fluid any good ? was thinking about using some to help with transmission life

anyone ever use it ?

My dad used it in his Furd and it helped, that's all I can say. It's only a temporary fix, but overall I like their products...

i think one dude said on here that that stuff is just a higher concentration of fluid, and is not really needed. but if your trying to squeeze that last 100 miles out of it, why not right? is it new or really old? i wouldnt use it in any other case.

I was told by a parts guy Lucas is just a thickener and that's how they get away with slowing leaks down... this was for motor oil though and he was trying to sell me something else(Maxlife additive or the like).

I like lucas stuff. Their fuel additive is great stuff. The power stering stop leak works good. But i dont know about putting anything other than Dex III Atf in a 700R4. The best thing to keep a 700 alive is regular flush and fill fluid changes every 10K miles

IIRC, stop leak products have lots of esters. This makes the seals swell (not necessarily a bad thing) which can:

A: Make cracks in seals smaller
B: Make a worn seal "hug" a little harder on the sealing surface.

I have seen stop leak products turn a bad leak into a small leak with no adverse effects.

I have never seen any of them cause any problems and have never seen/heard any real reason why they are bad. They aren't going to fix anything but they may slow a leak to an acceptable level.

The trans additive is thick but it works very well, IIRC it isn't advertised as a stop leak but as an oil conditioner. It is supposed to keep the transmission running cooler by eliminating excess slip. If you like crisp shifting in your automatic you'll enjoy using it. I run it with no ill effects to date.
