Lug Nuts backing out.

yes, working at a tire shop, ive never encountered a car that required us to add a sealant or thread locking substance when reinstalling the wheels.

if anything, occasionally we add antisieze. proper torquing with proper hardware should keep them tight.
Thats what I thought. Never really heard of having to use stuff on lugs to keep em tight. I will have to invest in a good torque wrench now, since I dont want this to happen again.

I bet you feel my pain with a TH350, and trying to drive on the highway. But with gears and 37's you prob trail your rig?

Your right you shouldn't have to use loctite on lug nuts, I would follow the previous advise replace the lug nuts and torque them down to the correct spec.

I do feel ya with the th350 on the highway!

haha i wish i could trailer my truck around. i daily drove it until about a month ago. did my best to keep it at 55 or so lol.

That happened to me, aluminum rims on my K10, I got lucky and the rim only dropped onto the 4x4 hub, i was only going 30 so i got it stopped before the truck took a nose dive....this was one week after it was freshly painted.

I chaulked it up to improper tightening, and not retighting. I do this now religiously. I inspected my lugs and rims after it happened to me, I replaced one lug and either 2 or 3 lug nuts.
