I acquired two M100 trailers for free
Both are in rough shape, so I sold one to get funds to work on the other. At some point someone welded two skinny pieces of 1/4 on the tongue and drilled a 3/4" hole for a pin hitch style set up, like it was pulled behind a tractor.
Put a new 2" ball set up on it, ready to tackle the bed pan. I'm guessing it was origionally 16ga or so, other than rotted out, it's sagging in the places where theres no support frame, so trying to decide if I wanna go 16ga sheet steel again, something thicker, or just weld in a couple more supports then place 16ga on top of that.
It's just something to tote around the property, rocks, branches, sticks, dirt, tools, etc. I don't plan on doing a full on restoration, just weld in some new metal, wire wheel it and rust encapsulate, prime and paint and call it good, and good set of used tires. Might fix the hand brake, might replace the lights and reflectors, but I don't think I'll ever have it on the road. If I do replace those things, it might just be for a putzing project one day I'm bored.
What's a 4x8 sheet of steel going for these days?
