Anyone know how wide the factory CUCV wheels are? Considering keeping them with 35x12.5" tires.

heres some tires you can run.

I have those on my M1008 CUCV. I think they look very cool and very aggressive. I don't think the stiff/skinny thing is what I'm after for the K5 though. I guess I'll just have to spring for new wheels.

A little confused on what the OP is asking based on the first post and the reply later down showing a pic of his truck. If you are talking the K5 version than I believe they are 15x8.

You can definitely run 35x12.50s on 6.5" wide wheels.

I have a CUCV and a K5. I also got another set of CUCV (M1008) axles and I'm stuffing under the K5, and I also got the wheels. I was considering just keeping the steel CUCV wheels and just buying tires. Tire manufacturers seem to want 8" wheels for 12.5" wide tires. The 35" tires on my CUCV are on the stock wheels, but they are funny 10.5" wide tires that actually are spec'd for 6.5" wheels.

Maybe still confusing... :eek1:

Difference between what the tire manufacturer recommends and what will work. I'm sure Chevrolet does not recommend installing 35" tires either.

I would have no issues running 12.5" wide tires on 6.5" rims.

You really want at least an 8 inch rim. I just mounted my 33x12.50x16.5`s on a set of stock GM Camper Special wheels. They are 8.75 in wide I think, they look perfect and take stock caps and lugs.
