My boss rocks! big chevy fan as well. this truck has been in his yard for a long time. 208 blew apart. he knows i have a few. he said tow the thing out and its mine for free. just get it out of here. so i did. has not ran in a long time. under the hood for 2 hours with what little i know i had it running. one thing thats not right is the fuel filter(model 80 i think) keeps putting fuel out the side of the base. so is it shot or what? as always thanks for the help. hers a few pics

have you tried putting a new filter element on it, the o-rings could be shot on the old filter. could you snap a pic of the area you are seeing fuel from, maybe open the picture in paint and draw an arrow pointing to it.

dont have my sony anymore so i cant get a pic. on the top of the base there is the black knob that lets the air out of the system? well turn it close and it still comes out. a fuel stream too.. any ideas?? thanks

Did you unscrew it and take it out to see if something in there is keeping it from shutting off?

Look in the Classifieds here or possibly over at Pirate4x4.com. Somebody had the whole thing for sale for like $20. Buy It! Sooner or later you'll need it for parts at least.;)

Spin on or the other stock type? The other stock type is a canister that the filter fits in. It also has a heater and lift pump in it which is important.

You can buy a aftermarket spin on but I would make sure it had 1) a water drain 2) a heater & pump or add them.

I had the set-up you have. I dumped it for a Stanadyne (FM-100?) series pump/filter with water drain that you can add a heater to. The stock filters are about 10 microns and my system I can go down to 2 microns. Pumps push better than they pull so I also have an electric pump I will mount on the frame as close to the tank as I can get it. It will also be set up so when I change the fuel filter or do something that lets air into the line I can turn on the rear fuel pump to reprime the system.

Now I'm replacing the 6.2 with a 6.5 Turbo so you may not want to fully go my route as there is about a $350+ price tag in pump/filter upgrades. If you do go aftermarket the pump has to supply 7 to 9 PSI which is fairly low.

i was going to go with one at napa. i didnt know i needed that stuff. any other filter systems you think are desent? my friend has filters by a place called fast i think.

I haven't really futzed with one. I think you'd have to fab a bracket to mount to the firewall but that should be simple. Like 3" of angle iron and a rubber grommet or two:D

BTW, if you are not interested in a "restoration" you can make a couple of dollars by selling the PA speaker & blackout light in the grill. The grill itself. The round marker plate on the front, the antenna bracket. On the inside the, blackout light switch panel and any brackets on the inside.

The big round connector by the 4X shifter is for an engine / electrical computerized test set. You can find them, in working order, for about $200 - $250. They are called an ICE / Sumptin'-er-other. If you don't want to go that route you can pull that harness and sell it too:haha:I sold mine;)

P.S. Love that Hi-Tech Mil-Spec Anti-Theft Device:haha::bow::haha::bow::haha::haha:
