My boss rocks! big chevy fan as well. this truck has been in his yard for a long time. 208 blew apart. he knows i have a few. he said tow the thing out and its mine for free. just get it out of here. so i did. has not ran in a long time. under the hood for 2 hours with what little i know i had it running. one thing thats not right is the fuel filter(model 80 i think) keeps putting fuel out the side of the base. so is it shot or what? as always thanks for the help. hers a few pics

are you talking about the water/fuel separator? are you sure the petcock is closed?

Actually, they are both wrong. It's an uncorrectable problem that makes the whole vehicle essentially usless. To this date, there is no known fix, it simply totals the vehicle. I'll take it off your hands, when can I pick it up?

:D

Yes, its the water/fuel separator. could not think what it was called. they are cranked down and it still flys right out. what else could it be?

well, i'd try a new filter - course i think my 83 is a bit different than yours - mines a spin on type, so it's only like $12 to replace.

on mine it's all one unit - it spins on like an oil filter and has an integral petcock. i don't know how it works on post-83 models, but on mine it's all one unit so you just replace that piece.

basically what i'm saying is i don't have a d@mn clue what i'm talking about in your application and i just want to sound intelligent. :)

will see how it goes. i was wondering if your kind is better or what. im not sure

i don't know much about your style, but mine is sure easy to service... except for that pesky one which is mounted to the intake manifold... that can be a PITA

the gasket could be bad it happens alot. just get a new fuel filter. fill it all the way up with fuel. and wahlah well hopefully

I think (been a while) that there is flat rubber gaskets under the petcocks to seal them. Mine are plastic so you can't crank on them to tight. Mines an 85 cucv btw
