One of my friends in Iowa is selling his M1009. It is in fairly normal stock condition. Reason for selling is pretty standard (kids came and he has hardly touched it in the last 5 years or so). Unlike mine, this one runs and drives normally. I have driven it 2 or 3 times and don't remember any problems. A slow radiator leak has been stopped with some chemical sealant, he recommends replacing or repairing the radiator before taking long-distance trips in it. It also needs new batteries. Aside from that it is in good driving condition. He's asking $2100 for it.

If anyone here is interested, I will get pictures, detailed specs, and a much more thorough statement of condition.

Edit - condition is as follows:

M1009 Chevrolet D10 Military 4WD Blazer with 71k miles.
Naturally aspirated 6.2 diesel.
24 volt dual-battery dual alternator electrical system (glow plug timer has been bypassed by PO).
BFG Traction TAs (32x11.5R15LT) on aftermarket black steel wheels (including full size spare).
Has body rust which has freed the passenger side seat belt anchor.
The driver's seat belt anchor has broken off and needs replacement.
This variant has DC power rails behind the passenger seat for (radio?) equipment and has a driver's side collapsible antenna mount.
I believe the antenna is for CB.
Has some interior and several exterior body rust areas. Windshield has cracks but all other glass is okay.
Fuel gauge does not operate (stuck full) which I believe was caused by generator regulator failure (repaired).
Blackout light is present and operational.

Starts, Runs, Drives.
Needs trailer transport due to non-functional seat belts.

$2100 obo.

I'd be interested condition pending.

Haven't forgotten this, the owner just hasn't been able to get pictures posted. Today I received this link from him.

Lemme know if you (or anyone else) is interested in it, I'd be happy to connect you to the seller. Or track down answers to questions. He's planning on writing up an ad for it, but it hasn't happened yet. :dunno:

Did you follow the link? There are interior pictures, I just didn't feel like cut-and-pasting every picture into the thread.
Campfire I apologize, did it on the fly and didn't even see the link. What is the zip code for the location of the truck? just trying to get a idea.

Lot of rust for that kind of money, plus he doesn't even have the wheels!

I kinda agree with you, but I also see his point that CUCVs often fetch higher prices than they realistically should. I think that truck in civilian trim would fetch $1500 in that area . But folks that just gotta have a diesel don't often find civilian diesel models. Maybe that contributes to the military price premium? :dunno:

I know that I wouldn't bother owning a military rig had mine not come up cheaply.

Are the wheels important to the average non-Martin buyer? I'd guess that most folks wouldn't even notice them, especially as they're painted the stock CUCV black color.

Ran into this guy again this week. Looks like nobody has bitten, so he's dropped the price to $2100 OBO.

Anybody interested?

I think you need frame, tailgate mounts, and floor pics, as well as that underfloor bracing that is right in front of the rear tires. CUCVs tend to rust oddly and sometimes areas that are normally a mess are in really good shape, or the opposite of that.

My blazer looked better than that one and had no floors when I bought it, but my frame is brand new.
