M1009 Brakes dragging

this is the m1009 im going to keep. about to put it on the road. all the brakes are new. rears drag pretty bad. pulled the wheels off. looks good. everything is where it should be. any ideas? im stumped at this point. thanks

Well, those are your basic 1/2 ton brakes... some stuff to check:


  • Adjusters can turn freely and are adjusted properly
  • Wheel cylinders are new and the annoying little piston arms are on correctly
  • Maybe the parking brake cable is unbalanced, like it's frayed somewhere and catching?

Is it both sides, or just one?
