keep the 6.2 and put an sm465 and a ord doubler and you would have the drivetrain i would love to have in my truck, minus the 6.2, i mean, who doesnt have a 6.2 :D

im jealous of the 6.2. i sware when my 350 goes im swapping a 6.2 in. def get sm465/205 or doubler. haha when my 700r4 goes, in comes sm465.

Keep the auto, if you plan on doing any crawling and like to do it with ease, the auto will be much more enjoyable. For a short time, I thought about swapping my 400 for a 465, but quickly came to my senses. :thumb:

Wow man! thems fightin words around here! J/k :D
Some of us live and die by the 465, way more dependable then that slush box. Yeah I know it's easier without that extra pedal, but direct drive kicks ass!

Weird, I just found one of these trucks with a plow for $750. I'm not a fan of GM diesels, and tried to get it without the motor, but didn't want to tear it apart. Figure wait a week or so, he will come down on his price. But back to the question, I have only ever had 1 standard truck, and that was a junk 3 speed. When/if I ever get the 400/SM465 in my suburban, I will let you know how it is. But I can't wait to get it done, need to get off my lazy a$$ and swap it!!!!
