I need help/advice from the brotherhood.
Picked up an M1010 with out the box, a while back. I posted it up for sale, threatened to parts it out, and life happened:doah: so it's still intacked. I made arrangements to have it towed out of my friends place up to the shop, so i could get it gone.
Now another friend of ours wants the rolling chassy. There are still good body parts but the whole point of me picking this up was for the axles. There offer: dismantle everything, give me back all pieces, they keep axles, springs frame trans and t-case, they find/purchase a set of 1 Tone axles for me and give me a little cash for the rest of the chassy.
My question: is there any "value" in the parts I'm giving up? will the springs do any good under a Blazer (several leafs removed Id assume)? Other than a Detroit locker are there internal differences/cost considerations in a different set of 1t axles? I don't have a large budget for my truck so I'm just trying to prevent having major regrets/stress later.

Any and all thoughts and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Note: I don't think they are trying to take advantage. I just don't want anybodys lack of knowledge(including mine) to bite me in the rear.

chances are the m-series axles need less refresh work in parts over civilian axles they would get you in there place .

also 4.56 gears over most common 4.10 in civilian and some 3.73 .

yes as said Detroit locker over open or gov-loc .

prob lot less rust on axles over civilian stuff.

then do you trust there ability to part out with out hack -n- slash job ?

are you getting good deal on parts from there sale ?

this is just a few I can think of.

if your running overdrive and big tires go deep as you can with gears . so the 4.56 would be better option over 4.10 or 3.73 .

Is there a difference in spring length/usable on K5 ?

Im glad you spoke up with most of the same thoughts I had :waytogo: Thought I might be over thinking things.

Price is a "brake even" not making money by any means.

No OD, running a th400 . I will oversize tires (truck will probably loose DD status).

spring swap worth it /doable??

Wound up getting things straitened out today with the guy wanting the frame. Turns out he and I were on the same page. The go between was, I think, the breakdown. No funky, just strait deal.
Thank you sweetk30, looks like I was stressing over dumb sh*t.
