I'm wrapping up the suspension lift (5" total) on my '84 M1028 CUCV and had a question on what I believe to be a rear load-sensor. It's a bar that attaches to some sort of brake-line manifold up top, and then to a bracket on the rear diff on the bottom (could find any info. when I did a search.) I'm guessing it modulates rear brake pressure according to the cargo load in the bed, and how much the rear suspension is sagging? Anyway, with the lift, it looks like the arm won't be long enough . . . are there any negative ramifications from simply removing it?

That is called a load sensing proportioning valve and lots of people remove them with no side effects.
