I moved from Mass 12 years ago to Ct so no safety inspection.Yaaaaa.
I used to do Mass state inspections years ago and it matters who you have do the inspection and if they like you.Hell I used to do favers for friends.Go to a licenced inspection station and see what they say.If the height is your only issue than maybe smaller tires can bring it down to pass.If not find out where they measure from and modify that area to meet the standards.

My truck has 4" lift and 35 BFG's. I use stock tires & rims when I get it inspected. As long as everything else is good to go , no problems. Try a garage that you would stay with. The small family owned place. Have them do a winter brake job . Give them a reason to want you back as a customer. Good luck !

alright thanks guys. i figured the body lift was gonna hurt me a little bit. ill try getting a set of stock wheels and tires for the inspection. i see all kinds of lifted trucks around here, just havn't been able to grab them and see where they go haha

go to the dot site for your state and lookup the lift laws.i used to have a web site that had that but i cant find the site.google lift height laws for mass and see what comes up.should be something there for ya to lookup.i saw a truck up there a few days ago runnin what looked like 38 inch swampers.so he got legal inspection frm somewhere.

Ditto to all the above suggestions..but if you do find a place that'll pass your truck for a sticker, dont be surprised if you get pulled over any afterwards and get a "roadside" inspection by a local or sate cop..most lifted trucks you see riding around were "inspected" when they were not modified or had dinky tires & rims thrown on them to get by the height restrictions, then modified AFTER the sticker was issued..

I found it hard to get stickers on my Chevelle wagon in my avatar ,I owned it about 7 years and went to the same 2 inspection stations where I had work done on my truck before and I sold parts too for years--it really does help to have friends in the bissiness, but after awhile one closed up shop and moved to NC,the other place balked at passing it for a sticker eventually, despite me never getting pulled over ,or them having any registry inspectors or caps come in and ask "who gave THAT thing a sticker"...they feared losing their license to do inspections and didn't want to risk it giving my wagon one--cant say I blame them, but it did suck going thru the BS every year convincing the inspector the car was exempt from height laws, and even if it had to pass the restrictions posted for the "base" vehicle it was built from,a '69 Suburban,it would have passed the door & rocker height laws easily..the car stood lower overall than my stock K20 or G-10 van,and was nearly the same height as a stock Caravan,it just "looked" higher than it really was ..

Now that I'm older I stick to stock trucks..I found lift kits and big tires to be nothing but trouble in an "on road" truck..while they might be great for off road ground clearance, there really is no advantage to having a lifted truck for street use other than the "cool looks" factor....with all the hassles with tire balance, driveline vibrations, ridiculously short U-joint life, shift linkage woes and all the other assosiated problems, the increased chance of rollover and poor handling,to say nothing of fearing being stopped by every anal cop with a grudge against lifted vehicles I just assume have a "unaltered" truck..trying to get a sticker on my trucks yearly in stock condition is enough of a battle for me..

4" susp lift and 35s does not look out of place on these trucks. Remove the 3" body lift for a more "normal" appearance and you should not have a problem getting a sticker. Seriously, do yourself a favor and get rid of the body lift.

Mass lift laws are calculated per vehicle using a mathematical equation. You would be hard pressed to find a State trooper (really, the only ones who have jurisdiction to decide on an over lifted vehicle) that knows this equation and can prove your vehicle is over height. Don't give them a reason to pull you over and you'll be fine. If they have a reason to pull you over (loud music, driving like an ass) then they can start picking at the truck.
