Did I get a good deal from my machine shop? Here's what they did:
Shot peen rods/clean
Install ARP rod bolts
Complete internal balance
Bore .030 cylinders
Notch the bottom of deck for 400 crank
Complete valve job and cleaning (not 3 angle) but sure is sweet lookin
Hot Tank
New Harmonic balancer (Just a notch above stock LOL)
Install cam bearing
Install freeze plugs
Total $730 /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif
OUCH!! but you gotta pay to play..

that sounds pretty reasonable to me...I paid $670 for:

-hot tank, magnaflux
-bored over .030"
-plateau hone
-deck
-line bore
-bring crank in .010"/.010"
-balance rotating assembly
-and assemble short block w/ cam and new cam bearings and freeze plugs and oil plugs

Then I paid another $310 to get my head rebuild with new seats, guides and a valve-job and shaved .015"

The things that really docked me were the line bore and deck ($150 and $125 respectively) but I know my block is as true as it can be :-D

Probably about average from what I remember about prices. Did u supply the ARP bolts?
I think most vavle jobs anymore are 3 angle equivalnet.

/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Sweet I was worried and yes they provided the bolts.
