I want to stay with 15" wheels as I do my 12 bolt to 14 bolt swap. The 8 lug 15s that I got come very close to fitting but dont quite clear the caliper. Looks to me like I could trim about 1/8" off the outside edge of the caliper with a flap disc or grinding wheel and they will fit. Any reason not to do this?

Are you talking on a front 8 lug 10-bolt or D44? As mentioned above this was a very common topic back in the day before the 17" and bigger rims started becoming popular. I ran 15x10 4.25" backspace steel 8 lugs on an 8 lug 10-bolt front and it required moderate caliper grinding to fit. Lots of people have done this and I have never seen anybody mention issues with it. After swapping in a front D60 I went with 15" rims with only 2.75" of backspace and they required just a hair of grinding to fit the D60, and pretty sure they would of had no zeros clearing an 8 lug 10-bolt front with no grinding.

My rear l4 bolt with discs has ground down calipers to fit 15" rims. Never been a problem and its been over 15 years. I keep them ground down so pretty much any 8 lug rim will bolt on my blazer in a pinch. I had 4.25 bs on my old 15" steelies.
