Im still working on the cowl intake. i have a pretty neat idea for the inlet. but i need to get it programmed and cut on the laser.

Looks like a lot of work...but you did a nice job! I think it turned out good, and you got exactly what you wanted. :waytogo:

Looks REAL good, and you can tell ppl it's the original hood. Any underhood pics? Curious about how you did the bracing.

i need to shoot a under side. What i did was welded thin walled tubing. i cut it into about 10 pieces rather than try to bend the shape. This allowwed me to grind an external radius on the top of the cowl and give it more of a formed shape rather than a square shape.

Very cool! I've been debating on doing this to my rig to clear the bigger air cleaner. I was curious how it would look finished, after seeing your work I've made my decision.:D

Nice work! I thought it was going to be a hack job when I read the thread title.

:bow:Can you give us some measurements. I've been wanting to do this on my '71 as well as pie cutting the hood as well any info will be a blessing. thnx

i cut the hood the way the "hood cut" on print shows, the i tach in the side pieces on a 10 degree angle. I forgot to show the 10 degrees on the print, as i just threw this together to give you some dimensions.

Wow, ask and you shall recieve! Thanks for making it so easy to copy.

Damn, that looks real nice. Apparently you have bigger balls than I do to be able to cut up a First Gen hood like that. I definately don't have the skills for that type of risk but yours worked out well.
