Magazine cover.

Seriously? That's like answering every tech question in this forum with "buy a manual". :sign19:

Well its a real good article, and good info. Decent pictures, not just a 1page quickie.

And yes, some people should read for themselfs. Tech or other.

4wor started to do a low buck build on one of those. Same color too. The goal was big tires and low lift IIRC. Haven't seen any more articles on it.

Kinda wondering now if it's the same truck....

That one was in SoCal. If I remember correctly they had a reader's letter a while back that asked about it and they said it was on hold due to engine problems. It was owned by a private person and they were just covering the work so the guy probably ran out of money/time/interest/whatever.

Yeah never ever at all.

Nope, no dead or prematurely aborted build threads here at all.

WOW! Thanks for all the kind words, y'all. Details, well, it is a 1985 Dodge Ramcharger. No, it is not the same one that was in 4WOR magazine. The truck has a double triangulated 4 link rear with 16" travel FOA shocks. The front has triangulated lowers with straight uppers. Again with the 16" travel FOA shocks. All the shocks are 2 1/2" with remotes. I run 17" spyder lock wheels and 42" Pitbull Rockers. The axles are built for 5 on 5 1/2 bolt pattern. The rear is a Corp 14 bolt full floater and the front axle is a Dana 60. Both are loaded with 5.13 gears, spool in the rear and a Detroit in the front. The engine is a Mopar 360 that is a little gutless at only 320 hp. Torque flight 727 tranny, Off Road Design doubler NP-203 / 205 with triple sticks. The cab has a 6 point roll cage that is not a very good one. I bought it from Jegs as a kit for a pick up truck. I hacked off the roof behind the front seats so it kind of looks like a pick up truck. I also removed quite a bit of sheet metal from the fenders to make the tires fit. Full hydraulic steering, with a cooler. Doug Thorley headers that are a tri Y design to help promote scavenging and torque. 2 1/2" dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. I carry three ammo boxes one has a variety of recovery equipment, Warn 9.5 ti winch, straps, clevises, chain, and the like. The other two boxes have fluids and tools along with some spare parts. It always seems like I carry parts that I don't need. But, some one else does. Funny how that works out.
