I have a regular 10 bolt rear and was thinking about putting one of those magnetic differential check/fill plugs in the place of my old one. Considering the location, do you think metal deposits gather up at that location cause problems with the shaft...? The metal shavings would otherwise be suspended in the gear fluid. watchayall think??

It likely wouldn't cause a problem, if the shavings are building up enough on the magnet to touch any moving bits then the diff is toast anyways.

Anything with a Gov-Lok comes with a magnet inside the diff cover. Its there to pickup the metal flakes from the clutch discs as they wear.

A megnetic drain plug would be redundant... It might pickup the big chunks though /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif
