Ok this will be long, A few weeks ago I go to start my 90 sub. wont start no fuel a tbi. after much diagnos I replace fuel pump. Still no start, so i replace fuel pump relay. Still no start. So I send to a local shop. The new fuel pump is bad so they install a new one. But now the ecu fues keeps popping. There some short due to grounded wires they say. my wiring harness is a mess from previous owner. Thats not all I pick up the sub from the shop. The next day I head out and get 5-6 miles from home Its shifting weird and then it all goes south. :eek1:RPM races and it sounds like the trans is gone.

Question could the wiring have any thing to do with this. The shop did separate some wires to keep the ecu fuse from popping. Do I do a new wire harness. whats the best route.

i would get or fully fix the harrness. if used you will need to go find a good used one in a parts vehicle or get a stand alone and swap it in.

and to check the tranny for a blown up front pump like it sounds check fluid level cold no running engine. note level. fire up and see if it droped to the level it should be cold running on the stick. if no change the front pump in the tranny blew up. i hade a 700r4 do this to me 1 time no warrning at all. motor raced and no go at all.
