I was thinking about trying to make zero rate add a leaves from overload springs. I would cut them to length then drill them with a drill press and counter sink the spring pack hole.

Has anyone done this or see any problems with it?

No there's lots of guys that have done it. Just search around. I can't remember who has done it

Haha yea that's exactly where it came from. They are cheap and come out of the box ready to adjust axle location. Its just easier to buy them but you can make them yourself

For the price of purchasing them versus the cost of time and material to make them... I just decided to buy them.

I am assuming you want to use them for relocating the axle based on drilling and countersinking a second hole. My only concern would be if the overlead leaf is thick enough to accomodate the countersink.

my thoughts, or, ummm, sig quotable.... :doah: :haha:

I can go work in that time and make enough to buy 5 sets of 0-rates...

For how difficult it is to redrill springs I wouldn't bother, springs are harder than most drill bits and you'll end up wasting money and time trying to make them yourself

When I was unemployed and was making no money, my time wasn't worth anything so I did everything myself.
Now that I work hard and make good money, if something will take more time than what it's worth I just buy it, if I still save money then I do it.
