Makers of quality good-priced tandem-axle car haulers?

im going to get some pics up soon . its a great trailer has brakes, i wish i could pull it, but the only vehicle i have that would do it is the k5 and thats the only thing i need to actually tow

Wow I just got my axels in today and they were over 1,000 at cost (twin slipper springs, dual braked 7,000s) And the steel for just the deck crossmembers was near 500.

I think he would have to charge more then 500.00 what axels are being used?

I currently have a 18' flatbed twin axel like what has been pictured. Built by http://www.pj-trailers.com/ but most of these have 3,500 axels and with my K5 and all the gear I did not feel comfortable pulling it at any speed outside of around town moves. Plus the single braking axel did nothing to help stop it. So I am working on a gooseneck trailer now with both axels being braking.

checked out the torsion spring axles yesterday for another trailer project I'm doing... looked to be a whole lot easier to bolt/weld them onto a frame than the spring/slipper setups I've seen... all the suspension is right at the back of the hub...

a little pricier though, but for a "part time, amateur builder" they look like they'd be just right...

dubbyx was that for a bumper pull or gooseneck? I am looking for a GN about 30'+ heavy duty base model don't even want decking as I will be modifieng a bit.

mine's bumper pull...

saw a reasonable used 3 car hauler in the thrifty nickel yesterday... but that's the closest I know of GNs around here... seems to be a lot of those showing up now that gas has gone up so much.

hey 77crewcab...

dunno what the name of the place is, but went with the wife out to 19th and upland (in carlisle) and found some trailers more like what you're looking for... didn't ask prices, but they looked alright behind the construction cones, really bad traffic, and huntin rigs...

Yeah I pass them going out to school it is like Texas Trailer Sales or something like that. I haven't ever had a chance to stop in and look close. I think I will probably get something from Danny's trailers out in Levelland but still haggling on a price. I am basically looking for just the frame no decking but with the metal frame welded in for a deck above the neck. They said they had some used ones I could look at. They took them as trades but they need new decks.

I'm still looking around for trailers, IN or NEAR OHIO, so if you know any keep them coming. I appreciate everyone's help.

I'm not to sure what axles they are but I know they are drop axles out of a 7k trailer. 500 is what he sold his last car hauler for so I figured thats what the going price was going to be. He has lots of steel to use that he barter / trades for. I'll have a better update after turkey day

77crewcab, Are you looking for a tongue pull or gooseneck trailer? I have a PJ trailers 5" channel 18ft tongue pull forsale. I will be in Lubbock for the T-givin holiday and could deliver if you wanted.

ttt

I almost wish I wasn't a member anymore so that my posts would stay somewhere more visible, like the "Garage". This got moved here and died.

Jekquist5,
Have you got those pictures of the trailer yet? I hate to keep bugging you, but I'm getting ready to move here in a matter of weeks. So I need to get on it soon.
