Yeah, that is a scissor jack on the axle tube. It has a gear head on the front, so it's good for small movements. The floor jack is just easier to lift with. This is done with engine power, which made me pretty nervous. 3 tires blocked, no rear driveshaft, 1 hub locked and a pry bar through the U-joint on the opposite side.
So far, it's been mostly a learning experience. One tire seemed to improve, going from 110/1000" to 85/1000" out of round. The other one I worked on was just malformed in all ways. The rim is like 10/1000" out, but the tire is 145/1000", plus wobbling side-to-side. It's really enlightening to see them spin - amazes me that it drives as well as it does.
