I'm copying the hatchback box design for my dual 10" subs. But, I dunno if it's the right kind of design.. my pioneers are the "enclosure" series. So, I'm guessing I need to enclose them with plexiglass in the front? or will just laying them in the box do? Pioneer doesn't say much about them, just that they need a box.

Choosing the right kind of box and the right size is VERY important. You can take the best sub in the world and if its in a bad box, its going to sound like crap. What you need to do is either talk to a dealer or maybe the Pioneer website and find out exactly what your subs need.
Bandpass boxes are harder to build...it sounds like that was what you're describing with the plexiglass. Try just to keep it simple with a sealed or ported box.
