Why couldn't I be ridiculously wealthy? I wouldn't waste it on Rolex's and such. I'd just have a whole field full of stuff like this. :D

Dude, they sell cars. They don't care

Wow, what a cherry burban!

That's a lotta miles. Gotta wonder what shape the drivetrain is in. OEM parts should be quite tired by now. :dunno:

Body is in good shape, though. At least, it looks like it in the pictures. My Suburban also looked nice...until I got to see it in person.

Perfect candidate for a 5.3/4l60e swap. Drive it for another 200k. I'm the same way Phil, I'd have a fleet of old GM trucks.

And they're asking $3000?! Around here, even with 225,000 they would still ask 10K, And probably get it!.

Damn looking at that interior makes me all warm and gooey!

I would love to check it out, I could even afford it, but I just have no use for it. If I get another squarebody, it would be a pickup.

Or Dad's 1st gen, if that pans out.

I visited an old friend I had not seen in awhile yesterday--first thing I see in his yard ,had my nipples hardening !..

Not only does his son have no less than FIVE Chevy/GMC 4x4 pickups ranging from 1960-66 sitting in the yard,a few from out of state like MO and ME,that were solid as a rock, most were straight six's and 4 speeds, two had original small blocks,a few were 8 foot stepsides, others had flat or fleetside beds...all pretty much "original" and very restoreable--2 are registered and driven once in a while...those always have me drooling every time I go there..the other 3 sadly have not been moved or touched in at least 2-3 years though..

Every time I go there I ask if he'll part with one--the answer is always "no" though...:(

But a "new" truck I'd never seen there before he found in RI not long ago, really was a stunner...nice freshly painted deep blue, non mettalic 1979 Chevy K-10 ,with 42K original miles..underneath still looks nice for its age, despite it having a Fisher plow installed at some point--not long ago,by the looks of it..even has the original catalitic converter & exhaust, and the exhaust is just about due to be replaced...TH350 ,NP-203,and 350 engine, all in perfect working order..

He didn't say how much he paid, and I have seen trucks like it sell for 10K,so I'm betting it was not cheap...but well worth it...interior was unmolested and mint, like a time capsule inside too..it's his new "daily driver"....

Based on the receiver hitch and the brake controller (plus the step sides, mud flaps etc...) Id say it was some old timers tow vehicle.

Looks like another CL scam. Way too cheap. There's been lots of gorgeous classic and muscle cars on CL VA recently, things like Dodge Darts and first gen T/As for $3-4k. You know what they say …… 'if it seems too good to be true …..'

I understand that's a cherry rig for my area, but aren't those pretty common out in the desert? I was actually thinking that it was a pretty normal deal for out there. It's not like this is a restored first-gen Mustang or anything. I wouldn't expect a super high price on it, especially with all those miles on it. :dunno:

I could be wrong. It just seems you have to pay a lot of money for a solid, rust free Blazer. Maybe Subs don't hold the same value??? Don't see why not, I love 'em!

The TBI engine in that truck has reached its life span limit. Anyone that buys that truck needs to discount an engine replacement cost from the value the truck would have after the engine has been replaced. Say the truck would be worth $5000 after an engine replacement, but it would cost $3000 to put an engine in it. Then subtract $3000 from $5000, and you would get a current value of $2000.

The tranny may need replacing as well. This would give the truck about a salvage value only. Some working poor bonehead will buy this truck, and when it breaks down in only a few thousand miles, they will go around claiming that all Chevrolet's are pieces of cr@ap. I have seen it before.
