Man whats up with ORD???

I agree with Zakk, but I still wouldn't hesitate to buy from ORD. Great company with great products.

I just don't see how he can call everyone with orders and tell them it will be a few days late. And having worked in retail I'm sure that'd bring on a whole mess of argument over the phone with some people, and all over a few truck parts. I have never delt with any company that called and said your parts will arrive a few days late, where did this "standard" come from? Do we want Stephen making the parts we ordered, or spending his days calling customers because their transfer case mounts will be delayed a few days? We all also know that ORD is not some huge mail order shopping service. I suppose if he changes to mass produced, low quality parts from China he can be like Wally World too! /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

the standard came when bckinblack called and they gave a date. Stephen jumps in and says he has no idea who said what.

Like I said, C2B communication is key, and its something a I know a bit about...

I'd agree with zakk.why wouldn't they not be able to call and at least give an update or at least an e-mail in this day and age of communication! Also they shouldn't have to call a whole lot of people in a day to inform there's a problem with there order, cause if thats the case they wouldn't be in business still. BlazerGuy, others make x-fer case mating prouducts, so going elsewhere is a reasonable option. I think ORD's "GenII Doubler" is the best on the market for mating a 203 to a 205 but it is deff not the only game in town.

I think we can chalk this one up to a communication error. There was not a sense of urgency from the phone call, meaning no mention of a rental, etc. Typically if we know something like that is going on we'll make an extra effort to keep up with the info. A guy building a motor and just ordering transfer case mounts just so he has them has different needs than a guy waiting on this part so his daily can get back on the road. The only way to make it all work is good communication up front. I'm not going to get into what was actually said, the fact that we didn't know it was urgent demonstrates that the idea was not conveyed and confirmed.
Everyone has good points here that we are paying attention to:
-It's true, we can't call everyone about every delay, it's hard enough keeping up with it all anyway. This is why big mail order companies tell you it's going to take 2-3 weeks for you to get anything when you know they're one shipping day away and will send it the day after your order. We try to go the extra step and give a more realistic shipping estimate and sometimes it bites us. We're still hesitant about online ordering since even our most common parts are out of stock sometimes and we can't inform the customer of the problems if we don't ever talk about the order.
-We are small and that typically translates into more knowledgable, personal help. Unfortunately it also translates into a lot of details to keep up with and a small staff to do it. It can also cause problems with stocking all the parts available. We're always out of something. Usually only for short periods of time but we never have everything and sometimes that bites us too. In this case a normally reliable supply of parts broke down for a few days at exactly the wrong time.
-We are working on better ways to keep the customer informed of the availability situation. We do have some limited ability to email tracking #'s and we're working from there but we're obviously not there yet.

As a consumer, make sure that the vendor has a clear idea of your needs when you start out. That way they can make the appropriate moves to make all the details work out. This is where a small company shines, we have the motivation and ability to get this stuff done as long as we know it's that critical.

Basically we didn't make the deadline, didn't know it was critical and didn't pass it on. I'm sorry for the consequences.
That's all I have to say about this.
Thanks for the support.

By participating and communicating like you are you do more than 99% of all other businesses.

And admitting when something goes FUBAR takes ball$.

Another /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif from me!

I would have to agree with 2dogs. I've always liked ORD and still do. In fact, as soon as I get paid I'm spending some money there on a 205 rebuild kit.

Thanks ORD for the great service over the years.

Steven

I tell you one thing when it come time 4 me to do my planned upgrades Ord will be tops on my list!Cuz i don't think they intentionally gave this poor guy the run around /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

Just a small comment.
-Great product.
-Fast shipping if you want to pay for it.
-Hard to get through on phone all three times I have tried.
I finally got through and received the best service, just a little tough having to redial over and over again.

I have been dealing with ORD ever since I started modifying my truck and they have always been very cool with everything. I have bought numerous items from ORD and will continue to. When I ordered the Doubler it took a little longer to get to my house than they originally planned, but when it showed up at my house it made all the difference to see such an awesome piece of machined aluminum /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gifand it still took 2 weeks after that to get my shifters, BUT the doubler is still sitting on my bench bolted up to the 203. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif
Every time I have e-mailed Stephen about anything he got back to me within a days time and would answer any of my mod questions.
You have to understand that ORD is not a HUGE company with a HUGE staff of people, it is pretty much a family business that produces some of the most quality off-road equipment that you can buy. They are very honest people that will try to help you out as much as they can with your project.

Now Stephen...let's talk about sponsorship!!! /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

I want to add my praise for ORD & Stephen as well since I think it's well deserved! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have ordered a number of parts from Stephen over the past couple of years & gotten nothing but top notch service, top notch parts & even super advice. Stephen didn't hesitate to answer the phone & give me a half hour or more of his time helping me with how-to questions on building my Blazer.

Then, when parts got lost in the mail because of a broken-open package; one quick call & new parts were on their way for free.

ORD is & will stay at the top of my list as a place to shop & recommend.

Keep up the great work Stephen & thanks! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gifVery well put. I am glad I received my parts today just like ORD said I would when I called them the 2nd time Thanks for the honesty .I am impressed with the quality of the steering brace .It will be bolted in tommorow and the k-5 will be back on the road .I am sorry for the miscommunication on both our parts. And look forward to doing buisiness in the future .Stephens post pretty much proved that they are good people and care about there customers and are trying to make good .The only complaint I have now is I didnt get a shirt. /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
