manifold vacuum question

i just installed a turbo 350 trans in my 88 and am wondering were a good place to hook the vacuum line up to. theres a thing coming out of the back of the intake manifold with a vacumm plug on it. its about and 1 1/2 tall is located right in front of the distributer is this a good place to plug in the vacuum line for the modulator? thanks in advance.

any where that gets you manifold vacuum will work just fine. Just make sure you get around 15 mmHg at the modulator at idle

cool. and how would i check the pressure?

to check the vaccum you need a vacuum gague you would just plug it in with the engine running
