Good work man, its looking awesome. I've been checking the site every 30 sec for like the last hour waiting for this. LOOKS GREAT!

goodness thats a gorgeous truck manny. it is incredible what you have accomplished in this weekend, frickin insane! it looks bitchin with the new boots and lift is over the top! its really a pleasure to see this happen so smoothly for you! oh i got my physics lab taken care of while waiting for the posts!! now its just the other classes... such a drag compared to a pretty new d60. much props to you manny!

looks real good man! those tsl's dont look that wide, can you measure their true width? i may consider tsl's if they can stay narrow like iroks. the tsl's i had before were more than the suposed to be 15, guess 15" rim makes them balloon.

Nice truck... sure as hell the one ive been dreaming of for some time now.

btw. because of this thread Manny, I sit around every evening waiting for you to post up the pics and the write up. Well, now I can start my homework and make dinner now that your done. haha

hey Manny its looking good. I was wondering if your 208 will be able to hold up to 500hp and both locked axles. A guy I met went through 2 of them with locked axles and 38 playing in the mudd. So you might want to test it good before you go to Shiloh. Just dont want you to get up there and ten it crap out on you on your first run.

But keep up the good work.

I was wondering the same thing:thinking:

any auto parts store will have that seal.

i also do alot of mud. i cut the bottom off of my 14 bolt and plated it for clearance. your not going to need limiting straps.

Things are lookin up Manny! The truck looks great! Got a few suggestions you can take with a grain of salt... If you are replacing those spring bushings I would deff suggest the larger spring plates and 1/2 greaseable bolts that offroaddesign offers. I've bent the stock ones several times. And they rust out between the bolt and the spacer easily like you found when taking your springs off.

As for the limiting straps.... I'd leave them out. You don't need them with the springs u are using and it is going to look a little silly.

The tires look great, but if its going to be a mudder, then it needs 44" boggers... PERIOD!

I've got plenty of other suggestions, if you're interested... hahaha.

Keep up the good work!

well Manny everyone is hot on the limiting straps. Limiting straps are for guys with really flexy suspensions. If you bought a complete kit then the springs should run out of droop before the shocks.

So where are the lowered bump stops?
You won't need them either.

I am running the same rear springs as you. If you ever want them to ride and flex better let me know. I'll bet that if you were to jump up and down in the bed of your truck it doesn't move.

1. Learned of shackle flips after I started the project. I'm new to Chevy's.
2. I'm a MUD runner. No need to shave the 14 Bolt. Useless for me.
3. Yes, limiting straps. I'm not taking chances.
4. I will be upgrading shackle bushings. But I've already spent a mortgage and need to come up for some air.

You hit the head on the nail about the daylight. Its the arch on the springs. I checked them again today. No issues. I will be routinely checking torque for the next 3 or 4 weeks, and then get on a schedule.

I appreciate your concern and pointers. Don't take me wrong, it's been a long day. I'm tired, greasey and exhausted. I still have the post to write.

Manny

I regards to #2 don't you have hard mud ruts down there in Texas. We do in Maine and it acts like a plow if you don't shave it. Plus less surface area moving through the mud makes you go better.
There is a furd up here that has about 12 inches of lift and 33" mud and snow tires and he beats most guys with Boggers and smaller lifts. Less truck in the mud makes you go better.

Mike

Manny,

I've been following your build for a while now, but this is the first time I've posted anything. I just wanted to tell you that I think your truck is AWESOME. What is even more awesome is that you keep preaching the Good Word and putting the Lord first. You're an inspiration. Keep up the good work and keep the faith brother!

awesome Manny. keep up the good work. im glad everything went together pretty smoothly for ya. wish some of my projects would go that smooth...

Awesome Manny. I realize you still have a few kinks/bugs to work out and a well deserved break to take, but when can we expect the first test run? Like someone mentioned before it would definately be best to make a local run before driving any distance. This way you can find any problems that might lead to premature failure. I can't wait to see you get crazy with the "loud" pedal! :waytogo:
