bfh is the only way to do it. Ive broke a couple vices trying to do my d60 axleshafts like loading it up super tight and then tapping the joint with a hammer until (kaping!!!!) the vise breaks. The hammer/socket method is the only way i do u-joints now. Come awn Avery, beat the snot out of that thing with the bfh and soak it in p.b. blaster the night before if its being stubborn.

thats your update. I only check in when you respond and this is my reward. come on you have pics of something. I know if my axle was done I would have raced down there to get it so I could work all weekend on it. You should have that thing under the truck and done by now. :D

make with the pic whoring.

Dude,

I was so friggin pissed off yesterday! Formation was at 15:30 and we didn't get through until 18:30. Too late to get the axle from the sandblasters and of all weekend's to chose to not open on Saturday, it was this one!

Sorry, I haven't built y'all up in suspense in a while! But it will be worth it!

Well, that went over real well! Sheesh! When the shop told me what that was I didn't believe it, but it turns out to be true. The clock represents the "shift time" that axle housing was forged. It's a quality control measure to track any errors in the process. Some axles have it, some don't. Which I found very interesting.

Okay BigBlaze,

PM me your address and I'll send you you're prize. Thanks for giving everyone else a stab.

Manny
SWEET!!!! PM ON ITS WAY!! and here i am thinking it was a long shot..:D I wish I had a clip of the geico commercial with little vern!:D

Wow, for being no more than a specialist making no more than 1883 a month(base pay with this years pay raise with4 years time in service) you must have lived with next to nothing for uite za while to save up that kind o' dough, or did you get one of those fat a$$ sign on bonuses that a lot of the soldiers I pushed theough recieved? Some of those turds got $34K for signing on for 4 years as mechanics, and that is a low end MOS for bonuses.

Soldier, I would like to say nice build so far. Nick seems to be a good guy since I know how hard it is to build a truck in the barracks parking lots of Ft Hood. Lost my '63 J3000(FS Jeep) to the post auction while i was there and had many complaints about my crewcab too. Continue the build and get that thing rolling.

:haha: I'm such a tease! :haha:

Seriously.....

:doah: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha:

thats friggin hilarious.

now I gotta go check what the clock on my 60 says. I know the build date but to narrow something down to the 8 hours it was forged in is pretty cool.

keep up the good work and thank you for serving. none of us would be here if not for the men and women willing to lay down their lives for our freedom.
