Been thinking about my P/u that I use to tow. I need O/d, was originally gonna build a bomb 700r4. then got to thinking NV4500, but that's $$$.

Lately been thinking about a 4L80, and putting a manual valve body in it. No wiring, and I think I can do that for about the same as a bomb 700.

But, what are options for T-case? I have a 203 right now.

What ya'll think???

I'd get the 4L80 and Np241, SYE the 241 and call it good.. easiest combo to get. You could probably do a 205 but that's really adding up the cost then...might be cheaper than an SYE though.

Subscribed for future input ;)

You know I'm up in the air about which overdrive transmission will be best for my 454. I wanted a 4L80E also so since you started the thread, I'll follow this and see what input you get.

Jay, Id go with a 241 or 208, I know someone down here with a manual 4l80 and a 241 and he tows 5th wheels and offshore race boats with it no problem at all and still has fun on the weekends in 4wd...

I've got a longbed P/u, so SYE isn't necessary, I still got a carrier bearing.
