In mid 80's chevy 3/4 tons, engine code M..Would the carb in an automatic differ from one in a manual? I know Auto's usually have vacuum secondaries. Im thinkin about a swap but will need to keep an I/M legal carb.

Yes, they will be different (stamped numbers at least) but other than that I've never checked them side by side.
