I've just replaced the balljoints and CV-joint on both sides on my 1991 Suburban, with MileMarker locking hubs.
When I disassembled the hubs, they were dry as a desert... Are they supposed to be grease-free?? I would think that som Moly-Grease or something would do some good in there... But maybe that's just me...

Thanks in advance for advice.

Roy

Right. Grease will eventually flow to the hubs from the wheel bearings but not much.

Thanks.:smile1: Then I'll just clean it and bolt it together.

Regards
Roy

(PS. :burb: lucky me living in a country with Diesel that costs USD 11.00 pr. gallon....:eek1: Jupp, that's right. almost 3 bucks pr. liter...:angry1: )

Get some white lithium grease in a spray can and coat the internals of the hub before you put it back together. The reason some say not to grease them is you can get too much in there and the grease will actually keep things from moving when you turn the dial.

I lightly grease mine, work fine. I believe they say not to grease because if you over pack them it can actually keep them from locking in.
