Manual Steering Column tilt will not lock

I do not have the wobbly steering column, it's just the tilt mechanism will not lock into place. Any ideas on what it will take to repair it? I have it torn down to the pivot pins, I should have it completely torn apart this afternoon but I couldn't find a schematic online on what all is involved in the locking in to position part.

Pics are your friend, take some pics and post them here for us to see. There is a plastic gear that moves the ignition switch rod AND also moves the lock pin away from the lock plate. There is a spring of sorts involved also but IIRC it's only purpose is part of the lock pin function.

EDIT: This is all on an auto column and i'm guessing it is no different than a manual column other than the missing shifter assembly.
