I recently converted my 87 K5 from electric to manual tailgate. I used the manual regulator from a Suburban, which I got from LMC. I'm having issues with the crank. There's a retaining clip on the inside of the crank that rides in a little groove with a wave washer beneath it. For some reason, the c clip comes out of the groove and allows the guts of the crank to slide forward. The crank still works but it's got a lot of slop in it and it won't tuck inside the handle like it's supposed to. I'm wondering if the Suburban regulator maybe sticks out too far so it's putting too much pressure on the crank internals? Part numbers are different for the Blazer and Sub regulators but does anyone know if there's that much difference between them that would cause the crank to do this?
