I was looking at a 2000 chevy K3500 with a big block and a 5 speed. The truck was whacked in the passenger side front tire and the seller said it needs a bellhousing. My question is what do I look for and what price should I expect? thanx

I'd wager the input shaft is wrecked too, and potentially the shift tower area could also be damaged. A new input shaft isn't that big a deal, but if the top cover with shifter assembly also needs to be replaced it'd be a deal breaker unless the tranny was free. Lastly, you'd be smart to check for cracks and breaks at the output housing where the T-case bolts to the tranny...I'd imagine that would be another area it'd be likely broken.
