Hello,
I know from past discussions that a manual window regulator in 77+ blazer has a longer splined shaft on it than the earlier blazers - but what I've never heard mentioned was exactly how much?
The reason I am asking is that as I am getting deeper into actually putting my '74 back together, I'm considering my options about something a little nicer than a factory interior door panel. (Even if it just means skinning a plastic panel in a nicer interior material. Not sure yet...I'll probably have to have a conversation with a good interior guy.) If I do anything different, it's likely my door panel will be at least a little bit thicker than what it was from the factory. If the splined shaft from a newer regulator is only a little longer, that might work out perfectly - if it's alot longer, then it might look kinda wonky. (Wonky makes captain sad.)
Does anyone know with any meaningful degree of precision how much longer the splined shaft is? I'd even appreciate estimates from anyone who has dealt with both.
As always...thanks for any guidance!
