theres an 88 chanel marine radio in a local store. looks cool water proof and all but the guy at the store ( I think he was smoking his lunch) said it also works as a cb. I dont know enough to make a positive argument but i think hes pretty off base. I figure someone here has far more info than I need but i will ask for a sparks quide version.. thanks J

Have him hook it up and show you. What's it's freq range ?? I really have no experence with marine radios, but I thought they operated in a different freq range then 11 meter.

Every marine radio i have seen and used is on a completely different freq band. They operate on the VHF band 156-162Mhz.
