Does anyone know why GM used both type marker lens ? Part of a trim package ?

Yes, different trim packages. The base and custom trim trucks had the plain reflector/light.
The CST '69 to '70 trucks and the Cheyenne and Super Cheyenne '71 to '72 trucks got the one with more bling.

The left side good.
Right side "stainless" falls off and is evil.

Right, but GM did use a lens that looked like that, just not with LED.
And that's what I'm curious about.
Front and rear van markers, no light....fyi

I haven't had the stainless fall off of those.
I did do the 80's van lenses onto my '72 as well.

My '68 was a factory CST AC buddy bucket.
It had the plain markers though who knows if that's correct. Of 4 markers, 3 had trim fall off.

I honestly don't know if the deluxe side lights were even around in '68, as they didn't have actual lights, on top of being the 1st year that the government standards required side reflectors.My '68 was a factory CST AC buddy bucket.

I added lights to my '68 because I wanted it to be similar to my Dad's '72. Him having the GM service manual helped me to wire them exactly as the '72.
I've heard others say that too. You'd THINK we could find some quality parts in this day of technology.
