Well my MC finally gave out, pedal goes to floor and barely even tried to stop rig even in neutral. Have most stuff for hydroboost but am just going to keep vacuum stuff for now since need to have it going next weekend along with other stuff. Was reading past posts about using the same vintage mc/ booster but a 3/4 ton. I'm running a wilwood prop valve instead of factory. 1--ton axles with rear disks. Is that still the MC to use or has anyone found a better one off maybe a newer vintage? Will the newer vintage ones bolt up?

Here is my setup.
I went to the partshouse and asked for 72 K304x4 MC/Booster combo. I think it was 160 or somewere in there. ANyway the booster is a dual diaphram instead of a single like the 1/2ton stuff. When I switched my stopping power easily doubled. I could only get my swampers to lock up on dirt, pavement the rig was almost stoped before they would lock up. NOW, EEEEEEEEERrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I can stop :D

NAPA here quoted me $109 for booster and $27 rebuilt or $33 new for MC. They are the same P/N for 3/4 and 1-ton 72 trucks.

Burt, what axles/ brake setup you runnin?

D60 & 14FFdisk
I know the MC can be the same on eaither one of the boosters. Single or Double diaphram. Changing out the booster is were you will get a huge jump in braking power :D

Oh and 1/2ton MC compared to the 1ton setup. The lines going to the Pvalve are opposite...front to back and back to front. unlike 1/2ton front to front and back to back..you dig?

sounds good, I'll have them order the booster, they have the mc in stock.

ok so got the booster all on and working on bench bleedin the MC and can't find a line to fits the front most port on the new mc. The factory one on my truck fits it but I wanna redo them all. 5/16 fits the rear port (rear on mc) but is too small for front port. 3/8 is too big for front port. What size it it????

Sorry don't know the size. I ordered new lines from inline tube dot com. The sent me the two lines for 1ton, was like 25bucks or so...

I ended up cutting old lines to re-use the fitting to bench bleed and build new line to prop valve. Just need to bleed brakes now. Thanks for the info
