I have put rear disc brakes on my 14 bolt/ 79 Blazer. And I need a new master cylinder. The stock blazer cylinder is leaking and it just doesnt feel right. Can anyone point me in the right way of a new and better master cylinder?

Subscribed - I have rear discs and a 79.

I followed the post above but I don't remember seeing anything specifically regarding the 79.

Just to add a little to this old thread.

This MC will not clear the hood on a 91 suburban.

I'm running the factory master on my rear disc conversion with no troubles.

Bringing this back - anyone have an answer for a 79 with disc rear discs?

When I did my 75, all I did was upgraded the master cylinder from the stock 1/2ton on to a stock 3/4ton master cylinder of the same yr and it worked fine.

There are a couple of reasons why I want to change it out. I don't like having the smaller MC bowl that was designed for drum on my disc setup. I have a firm brake pedal, stops fine, no brake fade, but I can't get lock up on pavement.

I haven't done any real testing to determine what the braking deceleration rate is but based on the "seat of pants", it is pretty good.

The rear calipers are from an 84 Ford SVO. (Older SSBC kit).
