Max backspacing on 16.5\" wheels and a D60 front

What's the max backspacing you can have with 16.5" wheels and a D60 front?

Thanks /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif

I don't know but my Weld Racing wheels have a 4 5/8" back spacing.
I doubt you would want to go any deeper than that.

I think The ORD blazer has like 7" of backspacing! /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Yeah, but the ORD Jimmy does not have front springs. It has coil-overs. Coil-overs allow more room for the tires/wheels to move in and out. But, if you go to the ORD site, you will see the pic of the link bars and there will be a rubbing mark where the paint has been rubbed off by the tire contact. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif And this is with the 7" back spacing you say. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

The ORD Jimmy has 5" of backspacing on the 16.5" Trailready beadlocks.

Here are the plans with my dad's new toy:

4" lift
38 x some size tire x 16 or 16.5
Fender trimming
Possibly relocating the axles within the wheel wells
(centering them ORD offset add-a-leaf)

Ohh forgot to mention it's an m1008 /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
That's why I was interested in the backspacing of 16.5 wheels. He doesnt want to grind the D60 calipers to fit 15" and I don't blame him, so we have been looking into 16" and 16.5" wheels. We have seen that there is more of a tire selection with 16.5" so that might determine what size wheels he runs. What do you think?

Thanks /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

Whatever you guys decide, I would recommend using the 16" rims since they have a lip to seat the beads.

16.5" rims are designed where the bead will pop every time you air down the tires too low. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

You might want to look into hummer beadlocks--16.5, street leagal beadlocks--not real cheap though after you have to modify the centers to deal with the 7" of backspacing they come with /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif. Would it be OK to use aluminum spacers on the front axle as well as the rear axle with the hummer beadlocks? I plan on using the stock front axle on a 3/4 ton burb till I can get a D60 dually front to acomodate to offset. I will use 4" aluminum spacers in the rear and will use them in the front for awhile (if it's OK) too.

Sorry not able to help you on this one--don't have any experience with wheel spacers. Maybe someone else could guide you in the right direction /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Also try doing a search in this forum I think I remeber someone else having the similar question about spacers with hummer beadlocks /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
