May be a stupid question but what is this port on the radiator for?

Looking at picking this radiator up from someone local.

Trying to i.d. what the port I've circled in red is for.

Looks to be the same diameter as one of the heater hose fittings.

My heater hose fitting are ran to the intake and water pump currently.

My red circle kinda covered it up. It's there though, just under the rad cap.

I'm looking at getting thso from a local guy due to it being the BBC dimensions and i have a BBC rad hold-down sitting in the garage that I can use.

My old rad is pretty rough looking. Still works fine but I'm planning on doing some dual electric fans (Windstars or similar) and figure I may as well get a newer, larger rad in there while I'm at it.
