I'm pissed I sold the '88 I had.

I found this '79 k5 for $400.

It's rough, but 350 runs, 4x4 works and isn't a total rust heap

It's a 3 spd that needs linkage fixed right now it only has 1st and reverse. It won't go into 2nd or 3rd

It should be great for woods and driving around town.

Eh for $400 you can fix a few things before you hit the $1000 mark which is what you'd buy one here for.

Please tell me there are just no tailights and someone didn't stick those ugly euro things in it :doah:

Thats what you consider "rough"?

My idea of rough is needing 85% of the body pannels replaced. That thing looks to be in great condition.

I like the 88 :D.... sorry bro.....The rack on top is what I like... wish I had one on mine... and $400 running and half way drivin... can't go wrong there :wink1:

Yea I know that it's not that rough at all. Compared to what NE Ohio salt and snow usually do to a blazer.

I actually have the rack from the '88 in my back shed. I took it off so it could fit in the garage.

And yes the running boards and lights will be removed first thing

Dude I went through the same thing a few months ago, sold my blazer I got for less that half of what I paid for it then I ended up finding a great deal on a k10 for under 1k out here. Jumped on it asap, figured it was a good investment anyways. Turns out the brother of the kid who sold me my tires used to own the truck. Rebuilt the engine, tranny, t case and repainted the frame along with some other stuff and offered me almost twice what I paid for it to get it back.

Basically what im sayin is it seems like your in the same boat I was when I sold my 75 k5 and if you find a good deal for under a g (or in your case only 400) and you can afford it, JUMP ON IT! Honestly its a good investment if anything in my mind, I dont really see how you could get less than 400 for it. Plus you get a new bowtie toy!

Can't tell much from those pictures, but I'd at least check out the main problem areas for bad rust. Yeah, it might be a great deal at $400, but it also could be bondo'd all to heck all over the place, frame cracked, whatever. :doah:

I agree it looks like a great deal, but don't let all the encouragement stop you from finding out exactly what you're getting before you grab it. Check it out thoroughly, then buy it ;)
