May have the chance to pickup a 454

A guy at work has a 1 ton 2wd duelly, 82 i think, that had a 2 peice main seal go on it. Hes just parting it out and says what ever i want i can snag.

When the seal went he was driving but shut it down. He said the next day he went out and it turned over once then it just stopped so I dunno if that 454 can be saved or not. Im sure the walls are scored to hell and back so it would take some loving but hell free is free.

Any ideas on what i should take it should be mostley free.

Free, you take everything. Also if the engine turned over once then stopped solid it is hydro locked (blown head gasket or cracked head allowing water into a cylinder).

Would i be able to use the rear axle being that its a 2wd? I bet the perches are differnt. If nothing else on the motor i will throw it in my storage building for a frakenstien motor one day or something.

Ask Dremu about the axle but IIRC the hubs are different being a dually and the perches and shock mounts would need to be relocated for sure.
