Have any of you heard of the Wrangler Unlimited?
I am looking for a daily driver that gets a little better mileage and have been thinking about a Jeep Wrangler, but it is too small. The dealership said that the Unlimited is a few inches longer etc. Anyone read anything interesting about them?

I don't know anything about 'em, but check over at www.colorado4x4.org Someone over there just started a thread about them today or yesterday in the General 4x4 forum. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

They went into production on the 2nd. They are built on a 104" wheelbase and are 15" longer than the regular length TJ. Check out www.aev-conversions.com and you can find a little more info on them. They've been building lwb jeeps for years and have discontinued their conversions due to the introduction of the unlimited. Their Brute pickups are pretty incredible also--but spendy. I've also heard that the unlimited will be similar to sport models. Hope that at least some of this helps.

I wouldn't get a Jeep for gas mileage though. Those things can drink the dinos with the best of them.

When I say mileage its a relative thing, If I could afford it I'd get a Dodge with a CTD for "mileage" /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I hear ya. I've been trying to convince my wife that we "need" a SRW 3500 CTD 4x4. I've heard that the new "600" CTD is giving some bad mileage numbers though. Instead of 15-20 like 10-15. Hopefully it's just a software issue that they can fix.

CJ-8 Scrambler = My dream build-up rig (built 1980-1984)
