OK I measured from the ground to the body line, and it measures out at about 49 1/4" so how much lift did I end up with???

For comparison...my Generals that are on tRusty right now are 33" true diameter. Body line measures 49", 4" suspension and ORD 1" Body lift. Suspension may be sagged a bit and the truck is pretty full of junk right now.

What is the true diameter of the tires on it?

That question is way easier to answer if you measure the before and after.

Jeff, I measured my stock 83 Jimmy 31" tires before I started working on the rebuild and here are the numbers.
Front = 42.5" & Rear = 44"

Curious if anyone knows if the body line on the rear quarters (from doors back) are perfectly straight. In other words, if you were measure at the rear of the doors, and right before the taillights, on a perfectly level truck, would those two measurements be the same? I'm going to have new springs bent/installed to correct the extreme sag on my truck (probably 3" sag in rear, unloaded) but before I drop it off (shudder, someone working on my truck besides me) I need to tell teh guy exactly how "high" I want the rear end to be. If the body line is perfectly even from door to tail light, that will make accurate measurement on flat ground much easier.

No anti-theft measures on your truck? No pity when its stolen

Dorian, that body line behind the doors is perfectly straight. If you remove the top and compare it to the top of the box sides you'll see that. I measured mine right behind the doors...more or less the middle of the truck.

Jeff, what is the true diameter of your tires? Sidewalls lie...

I measured T2 (unlifted and on some 31" AT's) the true tire diameter was 29 1/2" and the body line in the same place was 44". This however is not too accurate as the truck has no motor and barely an interior right now. I could see the number being 1" less with all components installed.

the actually heights according to the Big-O website is 34.7" she looks pretty tall, but the numbers don't quite stack up for the front drive shaft being as short as it is (3").

OK, I have an extra inch of lift, but my tires are 1.7" shorter than yours. Doing a little figgering our trucks should be near the same height, and they are (within 1/4"). So I would say you got a 4" lift...

yea it sounds like I got a 4" lift... I need to ramp the thing to see if I'm gonna have any rubbing...

With the Swampers the line measures at 50 3/8"...

Yes I took them off for my trip...I doubt they would have lasted. My generals wear like iron and you'd never know I just put another 5000 miles on them.

Well I haven't measured mine.... but I definetly agree that the BDS lifts are nice and big... cause I'm supost to have 5.5" springs up front and a 5.5" block in the rear plus I added a zero rate spacer and the rear is still 1 1/2" lower then up front... and I never had any sag before.

Hey Rene, what are you guys considering "body line"? I get 44" to the opening of my wheelwell in the front.

There is a 'feature line' on the body...its about 6" below the door handle and runs the length of the truck...

1 1/2 inches! grown

lmao... man I feel your pain! you probably got a 7 - 7 1/2 in lift instead of your 5, and I probably got a 5 1/2 to 6"... even measuring the body line I don't believe my front drive shaft was 3" short with just a 3" lift!

lmao... sorry, really...
