Measurement Request....

I have a small measurement request....I'm at school and my truck is about two hours away....I need to know the dimensions of the cupholder panel in the center console of an '89 or equivalent. I'm gonna mount a switch panel there by either cutting out the holders and mounting the panel on the insert or taking out the insert altogether and putting the panel in the blank opening. I just need to know how big it needs to be to cover the or the inside of the removable panel. Thanks for any help.

The cup holder insert opening measures 8 3/8 x 5 3/16. The hole that it creates in the console though is not a rectangular one, it sort of gets wider at the front. But if you make a plate that is 10 1/2 x 6 1/2 it will cover all the openings it makes. I'd peronall throw out the cupholder insert and just mount it directly to the console.
