I'm having problems with the pushrod popping off of the clutch fork. The fork is snapped onto the throwout bearing, and has the spring from the pushrod part of the Z-bar to the fork, and the fork to the frame. Going in opposite directions.

The Z-bar can "float" back and forth about a 1/2 inch. I ziptied it towards the frame and I haven't had a problem since. Do I need a new Z-bar or can I put washers on the ends to take up the slack?

I can get a picture this afternoon if it will help.

Thanks, chris

The z-bar on mine has less than a 1/4" of play,(frame to engine). Also, besides the return spring between the fork and z-bar, there is also a return spring going from the fork forward to my engine mount. I did rebuild the z-bar with new bushings from NAPA along with a new ballstud on the motor also from NAPA. My original problem was pulling the z-bar off the ballstud when twisting the truck or heavy gas on the big block, never had a problem after adding the extra return spring to the fork though. Good luck!
