Is there a book witch explains the drivetrain and every single part with a picture, its purpose and how it works. I have the Chiltons book on my blazer but is there anything that goes into deeper detail??

You can get books that are specific for parts of the drivetrain that will have exploded views. I know JC Whitney has books on how to overhaul transmisions. There are also alot of books out there on how to build Chevy small blocks. Check you local library, or bookstore. I know my local book store has five different books on small block Chevys.

Check out these links. I use these all the time to show people and use the neat pictures and diagrams in reports. Best thing is they are free and the moving pictures can make things easier I think and put it in a better perspective.

Look for assembly manuals for your year truck.
