If you don't get a reply by the end of the day I will have a pic for you.

well if you can id love the help i wanna make sure i do it right before i bolt then weld it on

I don't have a picture. What year is your K5? Mine was an 87 and even that had the holes in the frame for the bracket (IIRC they switched to hydraulic in 85). I don't know if I'd want mine welded in. How would you hook up the cross bar?

sorry by the time I got to it it was dark, but I did make sure I found it and have it ready (I kept the front half of the frame from the truck I parted)
Do you want the pic with the Z bar on , or just the braket?
I guess I could take a pic with and one without.
Will do this tomorrow morning first thing.:waytogo:

If my memory doesn't fail I think the hole for that bracket was there already in my M1008 frame when I did the swap.
It is better to bolt it there than to weld it.

id be hapy to have both pictures. i found one with the cab off but complete at a pull a part in atlanta but didnt have my phone to take a picture of the assembly my k5 is a 83 diesel and i looked on the 78 the 84 and mine. all are originally automatics and none of them seem to have the holes already drilled for the z bar if im looking right. im tinkering on the idea of taking the bell off my junk 465 and bolting it up to line everything up before i put the good trans in.

Hold on, uploading pics as I type this.
And if you need, I can measure for you the location from a known spot, like cross member or shock mount.

Here you go:
The front hole is 2" back from the shock mount rivet.
The rear hole is 4" forward from the forward most rivet on the front spring shackle mount.
